DOMO ARIGATO?

Main profile
I just read an article from WIRED magazine that a 30-year study has concluded that, in some small way, the human mind can control machines.

They had enormous amounts of people concentrating on certain things - for example, making the beat on a drum machine go faster or forcing a spurt of water from a fountain to go higher - and measured the results of the change in the machine based on X-amount of human will.

The kicker? They said that men have less noticeable impact on a machine's movement but when they do, it tends to go the way they are willing it to go. On the contrary, women have more overall success in influencing the movement of the machines - but more often than not, they'll go the OPPOSITE of the way they want them to.

Thank God science has finally proved what all us girls already know - the more we obsess about things, the more they tend to screw the hell up.

great scientific study, confirming what most males have long held in their hearts to be most certainly true.

while on the topic of science, i encourage you all to check out the Norfanz Voyage. It is a collection of photographs of unique and very unusual specimens from among the deepest waters ever explored by humans (undertaken by the Australian and New Zealand governments). Crazy stuff!
